Stewarding at Oxford Harmonic Society concerts:

Attend concerts for free by becoming an OHS Steward!

You can become an OHS Steward in one of two ways:

(1) Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by e-mail during the two weeks immediately prior to one of our concerts volunteering as a steward and including your e-mail address and phone numbers (landline & mobile if possible). He will then contact you to tell you if you have been added to the Final List of Stewards for that concert.

(2) Join the OHS Stewards List at any time by e-mailing This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and including your email address, phone numbers and the dates for two or more concerts in the current season that you think you will be available for. Anthony will confirm that you have been added to the OHS Stewards List and then two weeks before each concert (those that you have stated you should be available for) he will contact you again to confirm your availability. You will need to reply to that message to be added to the Final List of Stewards for that concert.

Please note the following:

• If more people volunteer than are needed to act as stewards for a particular concert then individuals on the OHS Stewards List will be placed on the Final List of Stewards in preference to other volunteers, otherwise it is a case of first come, first served in terms of people confirming their availability.
• All stewards must arrive at the concert venue by 6.45pm on the evening of the concert where they should report to David Kay who will brief them, and will be free to leave after the end of the concert (usually before 10pm).
• Anyone who has confirmed their availability to steward at an OHS concert and been placed on the Final List of Stewards for that concert but does not turn up will be ineligible to act as a steward at future events unless they have contacted Anthony at the earliest opportunity beforehand and provided a valid reason for their inability to attend.
